Luke 18:1 KJV
When was the last time you felt like giving up? If we are honest with ourselves, each of us has moments when we feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and frustrated. I have been there. There have been times in which I personally prayed to God for a specific answer to prayer, yet it seemed as if God did not hear. All of us have requests that we have brought before God, perhaps even for years, requests that would be to His glory if answered, yet it seems like God is not answering His phone nor has He checked His voicemail. One of the most difficult aspects of prayer is persevering when it seems that God is not answering. How do you have faith when God remains silent?
My friend, what do you do when it seems like God is playing a good game of hide-and-go-seek with you? What do you do when your prayers seem to be unanswered! What do you do, when God doesn’t move in the way that you think He should move it? What do you do, when it seems like God is not listening!
Here’s what you ought to do, KEEP on Praying! KEEP on believing! KEEP on having Faith in God! Because God knows what He’s doing! The Lord Jesus knows the weakness of our flesh and that we are prone to lose heart. In light of that, Jesus gave His disciples and us a parable in Luke 18:1-8 “to show that at all times we ought to always pray and not lose heart.” Keep the faith! This parable and the one that follows are the only ones where the purpose of the parable is given up front. Jesus knows that we are weak and are prone to be discouraged, lose heart, and quit praying. When we feel like giving up Jesus says in Luke 18:1, 8 “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Don’t give up, “Keep the Faith!”
Absolutely, friend! This is such a powerful reminder that prayer is never in vain—even when it feels like our cries are met with silence. Luke 18:1 encourages us to keep praying and never lose heart because our faith is not in vain, and our prayers do not go unheard.
It’s easy to feel discouraged when God doesn’t seem to be answering in the way or timing we expect. But God is always working behind the scenes! He is moving in ways we cannot yet see, aligning things for His perfect will, and preparing us for what He has in store.
Remember, delay is not denial. God’s silence does not mean absence. Every prayer you’ve whispered, every tear you’ve cried, He has seen and heard them all. His love for you is unshakable, and His timing is always perfect.
So what should you do? Keep pressing forward. Keep trusting. Keep the faith because God is faithful to His promises. He is never late, never indifferent, and never absent. He is near, even in the waiting.
Hold on, because in due time, you will see His hand at work in ways beyond your imagination. You are not alone. You are deeply loved. And your prayers are powerful. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting—because our God is a God who answers!
